the local food project at airlie
That same day (March 6th) UFVDC visited the Local Food Project at Airlie. The Local Food Project is an urban farm on the grounds of the Airlie Foundation and Conference Center in Fauquier County, VA.
stoney lonesome farm
On March 6, UFVDC visited the Stoney Lonesome Farm. SLF is a CSA farm in Prince William County, VA, and is run by Pablo and Esther Elliott. At the farm they both grow a variety of vegetables and keep some livestock, such as horses and goats.
Unfortunately, when UFVDC visited the farm, it was pouring rain. Nevertheless, as soon as we arrived, Pablo took us on a tour of the perimeter of the farm.

exploring the urban agriculture landscape
In the past month or so, UFVDC has visited multiple farms in the DC area in order to explore and learn more about the local urban agriculture scene. We'll post blurbs about all of these places in the coming weeks!
